S.F. bike expo - Best show year so far !!!

This past weekend was the S.F. Bike expo presented by Ride S.F.O, without fail Phil and everyone involved with the bike expo put on a very solid event every year.
This year seemed to be the best so far. With 2 days of cycling events like the AT showdown and Uproar FGFS comp’s, Industry expo hall and bicycle swap it's a jam-packed weekend and the RIDE SFO crew seems to pull everything off without a hitch.
Everyone was walking around with smiles and the good vibes were flowing around all weekend, it would be hard to find anyone who wasn’t having a great time!!

Nemesis Project had 2 booths going this year -
One inside in the Industry hall showing off all the new frames , Reaper components and giving out rider posters to the kids .

The new Sluggo frames were getting allot of attention , great photo of the Nem-Tek frame below.

The guys from roadbike review/ came bye and ever shot a quick virtual tradeshow booth video - LINK TO Watch Brad Levitate like David Blaine

Our other booth was outside at the Uproar FGFS comp selling T-shirt's , bars and a few closeout frames , Team Rider Andy Sparks was on hand all weekend signing posters for the fans .

Nemesis Project Summer tour -

Recently we took the team out for a summer trip out to Yosemite National park .
The trip was a outstanding success with one of the best crew ever !
Our new team had time to ride together and film one of the sickest edits on terrain never seen by FGFS before .
The crew consisted of the following riders after a few last minute changes due to a few of the team guys not being able to make it out for work reason .

First off the big big news is all about our new Webstore !
There's been allot of talk online about deliver times recently not just our brand but it seems like every small company is getting attacked this year over delivery times . Due to these concerns we have changed the ordering process here at Nemesis Project cycles . All product listed on the webstore is IN-STOCK available for next day shipping !

Last week Chas won the custom Triple Triangle frame I made for the Rad MAssaker race . I had to stop by the city to help get this rolling last saturday and afterward Chas sent me this photo wile out on a ride , bike looks great man !
Big thanks go out to the kind folks over at BOX dog bikes for letting us use their work stand to get the frame rolling !

Rad MassaKer 10 - Done right !

Yesterday was the annual RadMAssaker race out in Berkley put on by Blake and Ryan and they did a amazing job this year!!!
I have to say this is the most legit fixed gear race I have ever attended !!
Weather in the mid 60's and sunny , great corse layout , impeccable planning , a race Tshirt you wanted to wear, end of race BBQ with real food and pretty much 0 problems or complaints that I saw all day long = a perfect day !

People starting to show up about an hour before the start , I had to leave early to get up to my checkpoint so I missed the start of the race.

We donated a custom Triple Triangle frame for the winner -
Not sure who was going to win this with Walton out of town for the summer and I didn't see Daniel at the start so I was still hoping someone showed up with hopes of adding another one off custom to their bike collection.

I drew some severed body parts on it with colored sharpie's , sorta the theme of the race.

My checkpoint was located at a organized protest against Arnold's cut's of assisted home care for disabled residents of Californian called Arnieville. Really messed up when you think about it some of these people can't leave their homes and now the states cutting their medical care coverage .
They had a giant Arnold erected in the middle of one of the major street in Berkeley with a semi permeant tent city for the protesters .

The requirement for the stop was to draw a severed body part on the ground with colored chalk , after people started making the stop look like a slasher porno flick the protesters saw the drawings and got a little upset .

The finish BBQ was the best part -
Prize table fully stocked .

In the end a great time was had by all and Chas won the bike - first fixed , first mens finisher on a beater bike with flat bars and no grips . Enjoy the new frame man you earned it !

Derek came through this morning and picked up his new Trackfighter Plymouth .
this is the first of the production version of these frames , Derek was nice enough to snap these amazing pic's of his frame so everyone out there can see the details of this beautiful bicycle frame .

The Trackfighter set the fixed gear world on edge with it's progressive limited BB drop Geometry , often imitated but never duplicated.

A very sick Quciksilver build

One of our more forgotten or overlooked production frames if you will is the Quicksilver , this is our production GO-FAST bike f you will but these frames do allot more than just go fast they can trick it out with the best of the dedicated FGFS frames out there as well as destroying the competition at your local velodrom or neighborhood ally cat race .
A custom Mike contacted me a few weeks ago , saying he was on his way home from service overseas and needed a new bike to replace his old fixed gear frame and wanted to pick up the last remaining Quicksilver frames we had in stock .
I made sure this bike was at his door within days of him arriving home and here are the pic's of the completed bike .

The build kit features Paul cranks , Mavic comic's and Moots seat post and Stem to achieve some serious drool factor over this very sick bike!

Trackfighter and MASH exhibit photos

Last week I had to drive down to L.A. to pick up a new custom made carbon hood for the .:R32 as well as dropping off a Trackfighter to a customer and stopping by CULT bmx to drop off some handlebars for our good friends over at SOLID bikes .

Our first stop was at Eurogear to grab my hood and to drop off a Trackfighter to our friend Charlie .

Next stop after we went by Cult ( sorry no pic's of CULT BMXHQ ) were Rob-O and Neal Wood were working their asses off to help put another nail in Moeller's coffin. We were greeted with cold bottles of Gatorade and then promptly hooked up with some CULT gear ( I'm sporting the hat in the rest of the pic's .
Our next stop was the MASH tour De California exhibit on LaBrea at the Arkitip / Incase Project space .
This was a amazing gallery exhibit put together primarily by Garrett Chow who is quickly making a name for himself as one of the most talented creative directors in the cycling and design worlds today . I was super stoked to be able to check this out wile it was open .
Garrett also put together a new graphic's kit for the MASH / Cinelli frames their team has been riding for the past year +
this new graphic patter is a histogram pattern of one of the more notable MASH photos of the hills of SanFrancisco .
I got a small preview of this pattern a few weeks ago at the GLOBE 2011 product launch knew this was going to be a instant hit with consumers . From what the girl at the gallery said the limited edition MASH bikes with this sticker kit were in serious hot demand and there were people driving down to the gallery to make damm sure they got their frame.
They even had a 55cm built up as a complete on display - You know this was my size Garrett !!
Easily the only bike that isnt a Nem-Pro I would without question pick up if I had the available funds that day .

Our new frame offering the Trackfighter has been selling very well , I must say Thank you to all who have rallied behind this product offering and made it one of the best selling Trick specific Track frame offerings on the market today .
I wanted to post up some pic's of recent builds by some of our customers these bikes really amaze me on how good they came out looking !

First up a retuning customer Dennis, his raw 50.50cm Trackfighter is set up with duel 26's and a nice set back rider position .
Great build D-nice !!!

Next up is Bradley's 48cm Trackfighter in trans red , pictured next to his son Jason's custom 520iso kids fixed gear .
2 of the best looking bikes I have ever built for some of the best friends a bike builder could ever have !

The pic's below are of Edgardo's custom 46cm Trackfighter , he opted for the lighter tapered rear end on his trans black colored frame .
His build features duel 700's and a very legit parts kit , great looking bike !

Last up is my new personal bike , this isn't really a trackfighter I worked on this project with Carl from Knarcotix and we dubbed this frame the "SteveLand Cleaner " cus it's the sh!t and were dropping this new type of bike on the industry .
This frame features a few new things were trying out as a company , the bike to my knowledge is the first duel 26" specific fixed gear freestyle bike .
the frame also features a few new gusset designs and other features were trying out .
Don't email me asking when these will be available , as they wont for any time soon these are PROTOTYPES and are currently being developed for future production models .

This frame is made from USA made Plymouth "Supermoly" straight gauge performance tubing .

I was contacted by Thomas from Sweden about building him a commuter frame as he described it " A wolf in sheep's clothing "
So I consulted him on a few possibilities and he came up with this , a full 700c BMX bike !!
The pictures below do a much better job of describing this frame than I can do with words , this bike is super bad ass!!

This frame is NOT a fixed gear freestyle frame by any form of definition , the geo is based more around a 26" BMX cruiser than a 700c freestyle frame. Thomas requested the MKS dropout's and I'm very pleased on how these came out , we will be offering this frame with these as a option .

TrackFighter 700c trick frame

Here are the first pic's of our new TrackFighter 700c trick frame , wile the frame pictured is still technically a prototype this frame turned out exactly as we wanted straight off . I was a little worried about the BB to ground measurement but after checking the proto's against every after market 26" and 700c fork we could find, there was only .25" difference from the shortest to the tallest forks available on the market . For this reason we wont be offering this frame with a fork. This choice has stirred up some controversy on the web forums we encourage you the end customer to use the fork you feel works best for your riding style, you wont have any trouble with this frame .
In the future their might be a aftermarket fork offering from us here at Nemesis Project , I've been saying this for years now but hey Chris King finally released their BB so anything's possible right ?

I wanted to post up some pic's these sprocket's , these are true NOS ( New old stock ) this was the first part I designed way back in the mid 90's for my then BMX company Four bike co.
These were are made from 7075 aluminum and hold up great fro Fixed gear riding , so if your looking for a sprocket that will let you run BMX cranks on a Fixed gear bike then these are your hot ticket !

The lost arm.

Everything has been very busy here lately at Nem-Pro HQ , please excuse the lack of blog post over the past few weeks .
We finally moved into the new Nemesis Project / KOWA factory offices in Downtown Sacramento ! It's a nice live work style loft located in a building owned by a architectural firm located next door to our offices.
During the first week I was staying there the alarm went off 3 times and there was a high speed police chase right outside my door. This from what I hear resulted in a lost arm due to his car flipping over wile he still had it out the window trying to look "gangsta " From the pic's you can see the cops had my entire block shut down for most of the night , right in front of my front door . It was entertaining to watch them do their best to clean up as I sat and ate my dinner . LAter that night after the cops took off I walked down the block and saw the trail of wreckage from were the cops flipped the guys car over into someone's front lawn.
Sorry no pic's of the arm I got home about 5 min after they cleaned that ish up and hauled lefty off to the clink.

KOWA - New machines production Nem-Pro Forks !

I received a few new toys from our friends over at KOWA the other day .

By now I guess it not a huge secret that I have been working with KOWA suspension from Osaka, Japan
For the past year I have been working on the development of a production dirt Jumping fork , similer to the tuned forks we were selling in the past . I wanted to make a few changes to the design we were working with wile also making the forks production . Custom tuning large 3's for forks isn't very cost effective so the logical manor of thinking was to have a fork produced to our spec . After talking with several suspension companies we came to a agreement with KOWA .
The fork you see pictured below is the first version of the KOWA / Nemesis Project production dirt jump fork .

The fork might look a little over built to todays standards , it's not a XC fork by any stretch of the mind .
We designed the crown and lowers to be strong , we didn't want to put our custom's or our team riders lives at risk by producing a product that was inferior or that would break if used for it's intended purpose .
So the chassis might be a little beefy and the fork is a little tall in the axle to crown area.
Considering this for a initial product release we are very pleased with the quality of this product and how it performs for DJ and street application on a freestyle or URBAN Mountain bike .

A few months back alex from France contacted me and asked if it would be possible to build him a custom version of the frame we used for the KidRobot bike . After a few emails I agreed to build Alex a custom StarFighter frame .
This is a first of what may come to be a production frame , but for now Alex has the only one and it's BadAss !

I'll let Felix show you the frame and some of the details .

2008 was a good year we sold a s-ton of bars and made some really cool bikes for some notable clients .
For 2009 were going big!! So stay tuned, the component line is being finalized as I type , we have new forks from KOWA in the works , the 700C prototype frames are currently being ridden hard in S.F. and we might just see the finalized version of the ENEMY this year gonna be pretty hard not make make eye contact with this one .

Wile on my recent trip to Japan for the cycle-mode tradeshow I saw this in the tradeshow guide it's a OTOMO by Crops-Sports
When I finally figured out what it was I had to see one in person , the OTOMO is a personal MP3 player with a tiny loudspeaker built in and believe me this little thing is LOUD ! The cool feature about this little guy is it comes with a Handlebar mount mount this to your Nem-Pro and rock out on your next ride !
Wile talking to the owner of Crops at the tradeshow to explained to me that the technology for this little device isn't licensed for the U.S. just yet . Not too worry cash speaks all languages and your truly was able to walk away with the packaged sample pictured above . I have had the OTOMO with me ever since I got back from Japan , all I can say is this little this is rad!
2GM memory , water proof , shok prof with full metal enclosure with rubberized controls , 9 hour + run time and a little speaker that is REALLY loud and very clear sounding .

Well as some of you might know , I have a fasination with totaled super cars .
This one might not fall into the super car catagory but it's a pretyt cool crash so I decided to post it up .
Here are on scean pic's from the .:R32 crash last night in Hollywood at Pico and Robertson .
Guess it went down like this from the stories I have herd , 2 very hawt girls were racing down Robertson last night one in a Porsche Chixter and the other in the White .:R32
The Porsche and the .:R both went around the left just before Pico and the Porsche apexed wide sending the .:R into on coming traffic . So useing its mad AWD skills the .:R32 monstertrucked itself to relitive safty on top of a Camery !

Wednesday night was the Bloc-28 artist opening , It was cool to see the other Bloc28 art pieces as well as some of the limited edition product like the custom Washburn guitars and Jewelry by Hon Cholo.
I was able to attend with my friend Emily who happens to school at a very upscale L.A area collage and swears to me she spends most of her time studying , but all her blog shows is hanging at the Bloc28 opening and the Formula Drift finals .. yea Study hard girl!

Friday night after going home a little early from the Tradeshow , I went out to dinner by myself around 9:00 and was able to find a little noodle house right around the corner from my hotel .

I drank allot of beer on this trip !

After my noodle bowl experience and some good beer I ventured out to a local convenience store for some after dinner munches , well let's just say the offerings in Japan can be a little different .

Saturday I worked the show all morning so I wasent able to get many photos , but I did manage to sell a few frames so it all worked out !
Every morning on my way to the show I passed a huge picture of one of these burgers like 15ft high , on Saturday I had to find the place I could get one . The Zeppin ultimate cheese burger did me right !

Cheese burger , fries and some sort of Orange drink looks the same the world over doesn't it, it was damm good too.
Fries were salty and tasted like mickey d's from the 80's

The end product wasn't bad , tasted like cheese and had some decent grease for a japanese burger 8 out of 10

Vaude had the worlds largest backpack on display so of course I had to play around with it . Who needs a damm hockey bag when you can out your entire complete bike + gear , and your clothes and the kitchen sick in this thing and still have room !

Mini bikes are HUGE in Japan , picture this every possibly type of full sized bike has a mini bike version sitting right next to it with little 20" or smaller wheels on a full sized frame . It really began to trip me out until I road one ! there fun ride and easy to pedal take up 1/4 the space and a few were even folding or full suspension version's that looked like much bigger long travel rigs ..LOL so cute Mini bikes rock!

The night before I had to leave everyone from TAK-21 , ARAYA , KOWA invited me and Eric from RaceFace out to Dinner at some very posh sushi resturant . There was lot's ofBeer involved so please excuse the lack of photos .

This was hand down the best tasting Sashimi I have ever had , the Maguro ( upper left ) was outstanding it had a flavor I have never tasted before .

The guys from TAK-21 and Araya got me a full plate of TORO , I coulnt finish it all so I shared with everyone else .

After a long night of drinking I needed a few of these the next morning , QOO Rocks !
The next morning I was able to got to the bike show for a few hours before I had to hop a flight back to the U.S.
I tried to do some shopping but the trade-show was consumer oriented so no-one brought much extra product as they wernt allowed to sell anything onsite . I did pick up a pretty sweet MP3 player but more on that in a later post .
After leaving the show I had to jump a few random shuttle busses to get to the right terminal at Narita once I cleared thought customs and immigration I entered every travelers paradise the duty free area , I aint gonna alie I bought some toys but this is what really had me excited !
They had these at the duty free Akihabara Store in the airport , the I-Sobot this little guy could seriously mess up any other action figure or mini robot out there ! something like 300+ moves preprogramed and he moves fast too .
I want one of these little guys for X-mas if santa is listening , oh and I guess the white and blue version is JDM so his voice recognition software is only in Japanese and the Black version is US market and speaks only english .

I am very proud to post these photos of the one off 24" bmx cruiser we build with the folks over at Disney Bloc-28
With the official launch in downtown L.A. on Nov-10 I have been given special permission by Disney to post these photos early here on our blog .
The bike itself was styled after Mickey's very own colorways , this interpretation of what Mickey's bicycle would be came out looking amazing! Highlights of this build include laser cut Mickey "cross gloves" patterns for the seat and chainstay spreaders and custom one off Disney Bloc-28 Pivotal seat. Parts spec is a mix of classic parts meets new school BMX highlights of this parts list include the last set of NOS gumwall 24" Tioga comp 3's left on the planet earth ( yea try to find a set )
Skyway Tuff wheels , custom powdercoated Macneil BMX Conjoined cranks and KAPPA Sumo bars, , DUO Grips, FLY bikes brakes and headset , Animal Pivotal post and Profile seatclamp and Spanish BB spacer kit .

This past weekend in France was the "ROC d' Azure 08 " contest , It was a very good weekend for Nemesis Project !
David finished 4th in dirt and 2nd in best trick with a perfect 360whip ! Big congrats got out to David , Yoann and everyone at Bike for Life Import our French importer this has been a very successful first year for them !

A Day with Les at Disney !

I had to drive down to L.A. to put the finishing touches on the Disney Bloc-28 bike last week .
Can't say too much about the bike now , sure a pic would be nice but were not showing off the complete bike just yet .
A few of the finer details have already been leeked here on my blog so I'm keeping the bike under wraps untill the official Bloc-28 launch .. Sorry kids

Mickey sketch I saw wile walking through one of the halls, there new toys and cool art all over the offices, it was hard not to take a billion pic's . I was there doing work after all .

They had a life sized Mike from Monster's Inc. in the Disney offices , freeking cool!

Les took me to lunch at Kabuki sushi in Northridge , it was amazing thank you for Lunch Les !

The seared Tuna was one of not the best piece of sushi I have ever had !

After lunch we came back to the Disney Bloc-28 offices and had some fun rideing the bloc-28 x Nemesis Project bike around the halls . We took more pic's but this is all your getting until the official launch on Nov-10

I also saw this driving down the 101 on my way home , Ford GT-40 Replica a very good replica at that !

I built up one of the new StreetFighter prototypes for some riding fun and general testing , all I can say is WOW this bike is everything I have been missing latley light fast and overall a street killer !
Everything the Streetfighter was intended to be , I am very pleased on how this bike rides and how easy it is to execute new school street moves . This bike makes my "mini Ruben lines " to the next level !

We have been playing around with the idea of re-releseing the Streetfighter 24" frameset for a wile , there have been a few different prototype's over the past few years but nothing I was extremely happy with .... until now .

I'm a little late in posting this to the blog , last Sunday I took the .:R32 out to the local exotic car club's Euro Sunday GTG and Drive . Here are a few of the pic's from the morning GTG , Yes there were Ferrari's and Lambo's there but those don't seem as as impressive as the car's pictured below possibly due to nature of them being "production cars"

Yosemite !

Garson flew out from Vermont for a few days last week , so we decided to instead of the standard road trip / tour wear we hit as many skateparks and spots as possible in 10 days , we ditch the normal routine and go to Yosemite Nat park for a few days and have a normal vacation.

Before we left we took the .:R32 and my new FATLACE ARC out to the FatLace Hella flush show , it was I hate to say it Hella Fun!! ( thank you Emily for the great pic of me and Garson , don't mind Ron and andy in the pic to the right they get enough nethype! )
So after Hella flush we escaped to our favorite noodle joint in S.F. and got home early so we could get ready to leave for Yosemite ! On the way home I showed Garson a decommissioned government Missle Base that you can drive up too .
The trip itself was awesome , we didn't get too many pic's due to the fires and having NO power in curry village wear we ended up staying most of the trip.

Well with a title like Grow your own I'm sure a few of you thought Brad's up to something illegal , but sorry none of that happy stuff made it into my garden this year .

Gardening , it's a great past time .. there really is something to be said for growing all your own vegetables , and more recently with the cost of food going up so much it's good to have a green thumb per say.
Here are a few shot's of my vegetable garden I built earlier this year , I dug out a ton of dirt all with shovel and wheel barrow then built a redwood planting box and filled it with 100% certified organic soil !

Road Trip Part#5 Rally through the Redwoods !

I know I'm around 2 weeks late with this post but after getting back from my trip I had allot of work to catch up on.
Here's the last report from my Road Trip up to Oregon and back down the coast .
Tuesday after getting my car back from Lithia VW and my prolonged detail stop at the Astro Jet I was finally back on the road. Josh had made it home safely the night before and after the oil pan fiasco I decided I needed a little vacation so i took HWY199 from Grants Pass Oregon down to the California coast .
I had to get fuel in Grants Pass ,I stopped at the Chevron off the 199 in GrantsPass during the time it took me to walk in and pay the attendant the toothless youth working out front took it upon themselves to clean my windshield for me I guess my car wasent clean enough for her. As I was walking out I might have been overly harsh with her explaining how i had just spent close to two hours detailing the car , I finished up the windshield for her and proceeded to fill my car up with real 92 Octane , guess there a law in Oregon your not allowed to fill you own car up after the windshield I wasent letting them touch the .:R again so I took care of business and left quickly ! The 199 is also called RedWood HYW and winds thought some of the nicest countryside Oregon has to offer , it also passes the Oregon caves near the town of Cave junction.
Along the way I stopped in the metropolis know as Wonder , OR to get some snaks
After my stop in Wonder OR , I was starting to get a little homesick for familiar ground I was happy to be out of Oregon!

After crossing the boarder in to California I found some really nice twisties to have some fun on for a few runs
after a quick rally stop on the twsties I got back on the road and headed tward the coast . There nothing more beautiful than the Pacific !
Just below this vist point is one of my favorite beaches , it's a grey sand beach at Lagoon valley road.
So I stopped and went for a short Hike to go find a nice spot for lunch, wile i was eating i noticed there were SeaSnailsall over the place too bad I'm not French !
Just outside Klamath, Ca there's a place called Tree's of Mystery , it a tourist stop and outside they have a giant Paul Bunyan and Babe , his big Blue OX .
If you have ever driven this section of the 101 I'm sure you remember seeing this .
Wile stopping for this pic i got eyed up pretty hard by what appeared to be German tourist ( i travel allot and YES they like the Sweeds stick out like as I'm sure we do over there )
Needless to say as i was leaving i held it down for Deutschland pretty hard , all the way to 4th when I glanced back they looked pleasantly amused!

After this it was starting to get late so I rolled into Arcata just in time to stop by Revolution cycle everyone at Revolution are super cool and they ended up picking up a few stems from us so if you live in the Arcata area stop in and grab a stem and whatever else you might need!
Thanks to Revolution , I was able to get a hotel and a good dinner , after the oil pan my available funds were starting to get dangerously low ! The next morning I went for a quick ride in the Arcata Community forest it was a really good time but I needed to get back on the road . I had along trip ahead of me that day.
Avenue of the giants is a road that runs next to Hwy 101 and has a ton of huge tree's on it

I stopped for a second to take some photos of the .:R32 next to some trees that were bigger than my car !

Further down Avenue of the Giant's there is a Drive through Tree!
I have wanted check out this Drive through Tree ever since I bought the .:R32 a little over 2 years ago .
This one is off of the Avenue of the Giants someplace around Leggett . Wile I was stopping here i spoke with the guy who runs this tree theme park and found out there are 2 other Drive Through Tree's , one a few hundred miles back up the road in Klamath near Trees of Mystery , were I had just been the day before , and the other wasent far from his park so heck 2 drive through tree's in one day I'm in!

There's a few other cool things at this Tree Theam park for car , they have a Drive on Log and a Tree house , that sorta looks like something from the Berenstain Bears . Well thats if the Berenstain Bears Rolled a .:R32
I found the second drive through Tree , it isn't easy trying to take pictures of your car in a Redwood tree not allot of room to get out of your car and snap the pic .
Wile I was taking pictures of the .:R32 in the Chandler Tree some Chinese tourist commented that they really liked the .:R32 and asked if they could take a picture in front of it , so I took pictures of them taking pictures in front of my car. On the way home i stopped at ClearLake to go swimming for a bit , it was super hot.

Last shot of the trip , Clearlake CA jsut before rolling into YUBA city and waiting for well over an hour to get food at a SONIC seems like all the youth of YUBA city find it funny to hang out at the sonic on a Wednesday night and order food in the drive up spot , you kids really need to get cars !
After waiting for over an hour to get a grilled cheese and a chicken wrap I was over it and drove Hwy 99 home .

Aaron Groove just sent us over these pic's of his kick ass bike , Aaron built this frame himself with a little help from his Dad who is a very famous bike builder in his own right . I really like Aaron's bikes and he has always been a super supportive guy so I hooked him up with some new Weezy Jefferson bars , Stem and one of our newAlacantara leather covered pivotal seats. Aaron hooked the Weezy's up with the same custom paint he set his bike up with and all I can say is WOW that bike kicks ass!

Road trip : part #4 The .:R32 VS the rock

Monday after Josh and I left Talent park , we decided to drive up to the top of Mt. Ashland to look over the valley.
On the way up there were allot of rocks on the road and after dodging several of them in the .:R32 I decided to try to straddle one ... next thing I hear is BAMM , I can see smoke blowing out the rear of the car and there's a visible trail of liquid behind me as I'm driving up.
Luckily we wernt far from the top , so I was able to turn the car off before any check engin lights or low oil pressure warnings came on.
What I saw after getting out of the car was really scary 6 quarts of Castrol Synthetic ! at this point I knew I had punched the oil pan and wasent going anywear soon!
After sending Josh home I went into the MT. Ashland Ski Lodge and called VW roadside assistance !
Norm's towing to the rescue !

I have never been so happy to see a flat bed in my life , Norm's towing came up with one of their new 70K$ GerrDan trucks to help get the .:R32 out safley a few seconds later Norm had the .:R32 all locked down and and we were outta there ! I had the .:R32 towed into Lithia VW in Medford the tech who was working on my car even stopped by our booth Saturday during the XC race . So I hooked him up with a T-shirt for taking care of my baby for me .

After getting the .:R back Tuesday morning went directly over to the local Astro Jet and proceeded to post up in one of their wash bays for well over an hour , I hooked the .:R32 up with the wash and full 5 point detail W/ 2 coats of pure carnuba .

After this 2 day ordeal I decided I owed it to myself to take a lil vacation and drive down the coast throught the Redwoods

Josh has been helping out here at Nem-Pro for a wile now , wile being a super positive and supportive person Josh is also a straight ripper ! We built him a new DeathMobile135 for SeaOtter and Josh and been killing it on this bike ever since !

Road trip : Part #2 my adventure at Siskiyou cyclery

After arriving up in Ashland Oregon for their yearly spring thaw race I noticed I had forgotten something important , the rear wheel to my Double Agent bike . So after Saturday's XC race Josh and I went over to see Jeff and Sam at Siskiyou cyclery . Upon our arrival at the shop we discovered that Jeff and Sam had my new wheel all ready to go , laced up tight with a new road cassette and Hayes disk rotor , Big props go out to Jeff , Sam and the crew over at Siskiyou for running a tight ship and have everything I needed in stock ready to roll!
Next time your in Ashland I suggest stopping into Siskiyou cyclery it has been one of my favorite shops for a long time , when we stopped in there were some cool vintage items I could not help but too notice like this older Klein Rascal they even had the poster version of my favorite Klein ad featuring Darrell "big bunny" Voss bunnyhopping a log straight out , along with a poster of my favorite moment in cycling Lemond's Tour win against Fignon Greg might be sporting the Oalkey blades but you can still see the fire in his eyes , he really wanted that win and it shows !
After leaving Siskiyou we went back to the hotel and got ready for Sunday's DH race in all the confusion of getting my bike ready that morning i forgot my camera .
Ashland local Jarred Hobbs won and also layed down a new corse record with a time of 4:16.65 , thats really fast for that trail, we also gave away a new Secret Agent frame to Sam Markling the winner of Hartail DH who threw down a time of 4:43.58 ON A HARDTAIL! ( if anyone knows Sam , or Sam if your reading this please Email me so we can get your frame powdercoated for ya!

Any good jumps in Sac?

I'm always asked this question , are there any good jumps in SAC ? My answer who knows? Jumps on private land and backyard or indoor pump tracks rule the scean now all of the good spots have been torn down long ago 12 acres , the orchard and many many other spots ( not too be mentioned ) have all been plowed . People aint stupid and most of the talented builder's have long since gone underground , I'm not gonna blow up anyone's home spot here on my blog but all I'm gonna say is YES there still good jumps in SAC you just gotta be invited to the spot . The pictures below were taken at a undisclosed location so don't ask cus I'm not telling !

David Desones .. 3rd at Fiat FISE !

Nemesis Project cycles is very happy to announce team rider David Desones has placed 3rd the Fiat FISE slopestyle contest in Montpellier, France this past weekend aboard his new Nemesis Project Deathmobile 135 .
David's run's consisted of a solid bag of tricks including multiple backflip's , tailwhips landed soild and a very sick 360 stuck clean from the 5 meter drop. Nemesis Project is very proud to be supporting David this season !

Road Trip : part #1

Last week Josh and I made the trip up to Ashland Oregon for their Spring thaw bike festival.
We left Friday after grabbing the EZ-up tents and some product from the shop and some food , beer and supplies left over from SeaOtter stashed in the moterhome .
After the usual craziness of trying to get out of town we hit the road and drove into the night , Stopping for fuel someplace around Lake Shasta.
Finally rolling into Ashland late Friday night .
Here's a few shot's of the booth from Saturday in Lithia park on Saturday during the XC race . .
The bikes looked really good with the new seat samples and 3.25 Weezy bars in Tight White ! , here's a shot of Josh's Deathmobile 135 and Brad's Streetfighter

We had the new Weezy Jefferson 3.25 Movin on up bar on display , everyone seemed to love the sick mint color.

Patrick Branch sent us over a series of photos he shot recently at the SeaOtter classic , Pat was kind enough to do a feature shoot at the Nemesis Project booth. You may have seen some of these shots in his gallery on the Ridemonkey web forums.
I hope everyone out there enjoys Patrick's work as much as we do here at Nem-Pro he's a very talented young photographer with a very bright future ahead of him .

The big news this season if you haven't herd already is were riding KOWA suspension were also receiving support from Industry Nine and HAYES disk brakes , here are a few shot's of our bikes with the Kowa forks , Hayes Strokers and I9 wheels our bikes are rolling on top kit this yoear as the brit's would say!

This is a shot of the new TailGunner all mountain prototype , and one of the new bike displays we built for SeaOtter.

Greg Minnar and Steve Peat were tossing rocks at Josh Bryceland after making him go retrieve the Frisbee they through across the mini lake we were parked next too.

In true Nem-Pro style i commented to Peaty that they needed something with a little better range , so I brought out the AK-47 Airsoft and had Josh pinned down under a hail of automatic weapon fire in seconds !

Well SeaOtter was crazy too say the least , lack of sleep and 14+ hour days for 2 weeks up to the day we left didn't make Brad a very happy camper but we got the bikes done and the moter home all packed up.
I want to thank Kris, Josh , Dave, Joe@covic racing , Mitsu@KOWA Japan , Len @ Hayes , Brandi and Jeff @ I9 and everyone else who helped us get to SeaOtter this year I really apperciate all the hlp and support .

Well the BIG news this year at SeaOtter is we have started working with KOWA suspension from Japan.
Mike and I are both running KOWA forks , I9 wheels and Hayes Brakes this season

The 160SS air forks from KOWA we are rideing this year feature a new CNC crown detail , from my understanding we were the first people to recieve these from the factory in Osaka.

We built mike up a new 4in Double Agent , 4x race frame this bike looks soo good in the RAW color with the KOWA forks.

We also debuted a new bikes this year at SeaOtter the Deathmobile 135mm, Mini 16" and the TailGunner All mountain bike .

We also brought the KidRobot Fixie out to show everyone what all the hype was about , Arleigh got some fantastic pic's of the bike , even with our photo runining RED tent .

It' 2:00AM , Joe's finishing up the 3 135mm DM prototypes now , all we have left for SeaOtter is the mini16 which isn't going to make it to powdercoat before the morning . I can't count haw many times the cooling cycling has gone off on the welder tonight bikes got build SeaOtter is going to be a blast , unless I wake up with flash burns on my eyes tomarrow moring .

I was awaken to this truck outside my door this morning , and he dropped off almost 900 feet of True-Temper tubing for our handlebars!

YES that right kid's it' that time of year again , Nem-Pro handlebar time !
Not surprising to hear we moved over 100pair of our True-Temper Work hardened street bars in 2.60 rise last year !
so this year were coming back and moving it on up , as many of you have herd thought the grape vine that this year were movin on up and releasing a 3.25" rise bar dubbed the Weezy Jefferson bar.
Get your order in now were doing 3 times as many bars as last year !
Happy Monday to me I get to cut all this stuff up to take to the bender
